- A comprehensive dental exam: Our team carefully evaluates your teeth and gums for signs of cavities, gum disease, or worn or failing dental work. We also examine your jaw joints for issues like teeth grinding or TMJ discomfort. Rather than a cursory look at your mouth, our dental check-up is comprehensive to ensure we don’t leave anything to chance.
- Dental X-rays: If you’ve had x-rays taken in the last six months, feel free to bring them with you—they can give us a helpful head start. But don’t worry if you don’t have them; we’ll take updated x-rays right here in our office. X-rays uncover impaction, interdental decay, cysts, tumors, and other issues beneath the gum line.
- Treatment plan: Dr. William Westmoreland will discuss the findings of your dental exam and devise a treatment plan to restore your oral health. Most likely, your plan will include a dental cleaning. Like your dental exam, a dental cleaning is a painless procedure. It’s necessary every six months, allowing the dental hygienist to remove plaque and tartar from hard-to-reach areas of the mouth. If we detect cavities, gum disease, or other issues, we will recommend appropriate treatment to restore your healthy smile.
